Reportedly ArcelorMittal has planned to merge ThyssenKrupp's world-class plant in southern US state of Alabama. Mr. Mittal was asked with analysts about the possible deal after ArcelorMittal unveiled plans for a capital increase worth US$3.5 billion to reduce the group's debt to around USD$17 billion by end of June 2013. He said the US$17 billion figure included expectations for a successful end to talks with ThyssenKrupp which wanted to sell the plants which Mittal said was a world-class asset in end of 2013. ThyssenKrupp spent around US$5 billion building the facilities yet selling the plant in Alabama and another will merely earn around US$3.9 billion
